Steamed Prawns with Garlic Recipe

Steamed Prawns with Garlic must be one of the most classical Chinese dishes you'll find at restaurants. Fresh, juicy prawns coupled with a garlicky fragrance... YUMZ.

I never thought the preparation and cooking of this dish would be so simple. Now I know I won't have to go Crystal Jade to satisfy my cravings for this dish!

(Serves 6)

- 12 fresh prawns, cleaned of intestines and butterflied
- 3 slices of ginger
- 1 whole garlic, minced
- 3 teaspoonfuls of Chinese Shao Xing wine
- 2 teaspoon of light soy sauce
- A pinch of salt
- Sesame oil
- Vegetable oil
- Water
- Chopped spring onions

1. Clean the prawns.

2. Marinate them in sauce with garlic, ginger, soy sauce, wine, salt, and a few droplets of sesame and vegetable oil for 1 hour. Add some water if sauce is too salty.

3. Leave prawns for 1.5 hours. Make sure the minced garlic is "stuffed" inside the sliced flesh of the prawns.

4. Steam the prawns for 5-8 minutes. Make sure not to overcook them.

5. Sprinkle with spring onion and coriander and serve.
