Stir fried Scallops with Asparagus Recipe


Stir-fried Scallops with Asparagus is yet another typical dish on Chinese restaurants' menus with fancy sounding names like "Imperial Jade and Crystal Treasure" or some other equally cringeworthy title. 

It is an ideal quick Chinese dish that can leave a great impression on any visiting guests. 

(Serves 5)
- 1 bundle of baby asparagus
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 3 fresh scallops, each sliced into half
- 6 fresh shrimps, each sliced into half
- Salt, sugar and corn flour
- Oyster sauce

1. Heat 1 teaspoonful of cooking oil in wok.
2. When oil is hot, stir fry minced garlic till fragrant. 
3. Dust the scallops with corn flour and salt.
4. Add scallops and shrimps into the wok. Stir fry for a minute or so before adding in the sliced baby asparagus.
5. Add in a teaspoonful of oyster sauce and a sprinkle of salt and sugar. 
6. Pour in 2 tablespoonfuls of water. Add more salt/ sugar to taste.
7. Serve.
